System 6 is a Brisbane music and events project. This policy explains what personal information we collect across our websites, our online shop and our mailing list, why we collect it, and who else handles it.

In this policy, "we" and "System 6" mean the operator of system6.com.au and its subdomains. If you have a question about anything here, email info@system6.com.au.

What we collect

• Contact details you give us. Your email address when you join the A-List. Your mobile number if you separately opt in to text messages.
• Order details. When you buy from our shop: your name, email address, shipping address, optional phone number, and what you ordered.
• Payment confirmation. Payments are processed by PayPal. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the details above. We never see or store your card number.
• Technical information. Standard web data such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the site that referred you.

Why we use it

• To take, fulfil and ship your order, and to send you order confirmation and tracking emails.
• To send you A-List updates about events, releases and merch, where you have asked us to.
• To understand which pages and posts people actually read, so we make more of what works.
• To measure whether our social media advertising reaches the right people.
• To keep the sites secure and available.

Who else handles your information

We use established third-party services to run the shop, send mail and host the sites. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job.

Some of these providers are based overseas, mainly in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed outside Australia.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else for their own marketing. The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Marketing and how to stop it

We only send marketing to people who asked for it. You can leave at any time and we will stop:

• Email: click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any A-List email.
• Text messages: reply STOP to any message, or use the unsubscribe link where one is provided.

Order confirmations and shipping notifications are not marketing. If you buy something we will still email you about that order.

Text messages

Text messaging is a separate opt-in. Joining the A-List by email does not sign you up for texts, and you will only receive them if you have specifically given us your mobile number and agreed to receive marketing text messages.

What we do with your number. We use it to send you marketing text messages about System 6 events, ticket releases, merch drops and, where relevant, reminders about a shopping cart you did not finish. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Who handles it. Your number and your consent record are stored in Klaviyo, which sends the messages on our behalf, and are passed to the mobile networks needed to deliver them. We do not sell your number, and we do not share text messaging opt-in data or consent with any third parties for any purpose. This exclusion applies regardless of anything else in this policy about data sharing.

Cart reminders. Our shop stores the items you add to your cart in your own browser. If you have given us your details and opted in, that information may be used to work out that you left something in your cart and to send you a reminder by text message or email. You can stop these at any time using the methods below.

How to stop texts. Reply STOP to any message. You can also reply HELP for assistance, or email info@system6.com.au.

Location. We do not track your location and we do not run location-based services. Our messages are not targeted using your device's location.

Cookies and tracking

Our sites use a small amount of browser storage and tracking:

• Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views. It is privacy-focused and does not build a profile of you across other websites.
• The Meta Pixel records visits and purchases so we can measure our Facebook and Instagram advertising. You can limit this in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings, and most browsers and ad blockers can block it outright.
• Your shopping cart is stored in your own browser, not on our servers, so it survives a page refresh. If you have opted in to messages from us, this is also how we can tell that a cart was left unfinished and send you a reminder.
• Klaviyo may set a cookie so a signup form is not shown to you repeatedly, and so we can tell whether an email led to a visit.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept while we need them for business and tax purposes. Mailing list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Email info@system6.com.au and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can. If you ask us to delete your details we may still need to keep basic records of a completed order.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to sort it out. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children

Our sites and mailing list are intended for adults. Our events have their own age requirements, set by the venue and the ticketing terms.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
